Looking for something different to do this summer?
How about heading out of the city to Frankston’s annual Waterfront Festival?!
Just over an hour out of the city on the Eastlink trail, or approximately one
hour on the train from Flinders Street Station, Frankston has never been so
easy to get to and the locals are revelling in their new found connectivity.
This January 16th and 17th the
Frankston Waterfront Festival sees Frankston come alive with a mixture of live
music, good food and water sport activities for the whole family. How about
setting sail to the seas, paddle boarding out in the waves, canoeing in the
still waters or even snorkelling and seeing underwater worlds! For those who
prefer to stay on land, there will be beach soccer and beach hockey running
during the day, otherwise have a stroll around the many stalls showcasing local
handmade goods.
While there, make time to visit Frankston’s annual
Sand Sculpting Exhibition. Featuring awe inspiring artwork and situated just
around the corner from all the fun, rides and festivities it is too good an
experience to miss.
For more information on the Frankston Waterfront
Festival or if you would like to get involved, click Frankston to head to Frankston City Council's homepage
and look under “Things to do – Events.”
